Have anyone wonder what does it feels like to play together with a Christian team of Sports? This is something struck me as I watch the show “Facing the Giants”… Facing the Giants….. It’s a pretty old show to most of the people I believe…. But I also believe that my fellow brothers and sister in Christ would agree that God is able to show this power and grace even through the same movie… After watching this show I really really dread and wish to have this chance to play Basketball with a team that is completely given their lives to God and trust in Him in every game we play, and most importantly playing each game giving their best to the Lord! And when we win, we PRAISE GOD, and when we lose, we PRAISE GOD! A team that is purely on fire for God! What a wonderful team would that be?
But now bringing this scene into our daily lives…. How often do we really give our best to God? We often say: “Trust in God! Just do your best and leave the rest to God!” but when exams/results come…. How do we usually response? “God! Why? Why did I fail? Why is this happening to me?”…. Isn’t this what we have often been doing? I do not know about others… But this kind of situation did happen to me before…. But there is only once, I submitted it to God by praising Him despite of the bad results and that time is the day when I receive my O level…
So much so there are many giants in our lives…. Those Giants can be getting into a well know JC, Poly, or Secondary School. Things that we are scared of are the GIANTS in our lives. The best way to beat the GIANTS is to stand up and face them with God by your side!
But what I hope to share about what I learnt in this movie is really…. If God is by our side, who can be against us? If we are doing our best for God to honor Him, won’t He too honor us with His blessings? But never ever doing things to honor God with a motive in mind! Because…. God LOOKS at YOUR HEART.
In every things that you do, do your best and do it all for the glory of God!
